Nevada makes commercial agents register at ten companies

What Nevada actually requires

NRS Chapter 77 is Nevada’s Model Registered Agents Act. A registered agent is who can be handed service of process. The Secretary of State keeps the public file. Anyone can look the agent up on SilverFlume.

NRS 77.040 is the ten-company line. A commercial registered agent is an individual or a domestic or foreign entity transacting business as a registered agent for 10 or more entities, or any registered agent who elects to register under NRS 77.320. Delaware’s commercial bar is more than 50 entities. Nevada’s bar is ten. We print that contrast. We do not invent a third number.

NRS 77.320 is the registration rule. An individual or entity shall not serve as the registered agent in this State of 10 or more domestic or foreign entities unless that person is registered as a commercial registered agent. The registration statement is a form the Secretary of State prescribes. It is signed under penalty of perjury. It must state a Nevada place of business where process may be delivered. NRS 77.280 prices a statement of change, a resignation, and a statement appointing an agent. It does not list a commercial-registered-agent registration fee. The official LLC fee schedule we cite does not clearly list one either. We do not invent that dollar.

NRS 77.310 is how an agent is named. The filing states the commercial registered agent’s name, or, if there is no commercial agent, the noncommercial agent’s name and address, or the title of an office at the company and that person’s business address. Subsection (2) is the writing Florida also files and Texas often keeps in a drawer: the appointment must be accompanied by a certificate of acceptance of the appointment by the registered agent.

NRS 77.300 is the street rule. Whenever this chapter requires an address, the filing must state an actual street address or rural route box number in this State, and a mailing address in this State if that mailing address is different. A street address is a place a person can walk up to, like 123 Main Street. A rural route box is a rural delivery box. A P.O. Box is a mailbox at the post office. We do not treat a P.O. Box as that Nevada street.

NRS 77.400 is the duty list. The agent receives process, notice, or demand and forwards it to the address the company last gave. The agent sends the notices this chapter requires. A noncommercial agent keeps the NRS 77.310 information current. A commercial registered agent keeps the NRS 77.320 registration current. The agent keeps the records this title says must sit with the agent. The agent keeps the name and street address of a contact person for each company. NRS 77.390 says the agent is authorized to receive service of any process, notice, or demand the law allows to be served on the company.

NRS 86.231 is the LLC office rule. A limited-liability company shall have a registered agent who must have a street address for the service of process. That street is the registered office in this State. NRS 86.161 says the articles of organization must include the information required by NRS 77.310 — the agent line and the certificate of acceptance. NRS 86.261 says the appointed agent is the person who may be served.

Nevada also files an annual list. That list is not the registered-agent job. It is the yearly roster of managers or managing members. NRS 86.263 requires the initial list when the articles are filed, unless the company picks an alternative due date the Secretary of State allows. After that, file on or before the last day of the month in which the anniversary date of organization occurs. Each list is $150. NRS 86.272 adds a $75 penalty when the company is in default for missing that filing. The official LLC fee schedule prices Articles of Organization at $75 and the State Business License at $200. NRS 77.305 is an optional willingness-to-serve web listing. An individual residing in Nevada, or a corporation located in Nevada, may register a willingness to serve as registered agent for that calendar year. The fee is $500 per office of the registered agent. The Secretary of State keeps a list and may amend a listing for $50. That list is a convenience list. It is separate from commercial-registered-agent registration under NRS 77.320. Appearing on the list is not what makes someone a commercial registered agent.

NRS 77.280 prices the Chapter 77 filings. A statement of change is $60. A statement of resignation is $100 for the first entity listed and $1 for each additional entity. A statement appointing an agent for service of process is $60. File a change under NRS 77.340. We cite the statute dollars, not a company blog.

We print what the company’s official registered-agent page said on the retrieval date. No company publishes a different Nevada registered-agent price from the national card, except where we note a Nevada-page renewal line. We do not invent a renewal.

• Northwest Registered Agent — official page: “$125 Per Year.” Same price in year two on the national card. Five or more states is $100 a year per state. Resignation is $100 for the first entity and $1 for each additional entity. The annual list is $150. The late-list penalty is $75. Articles of Organization are $75 on the official LLC fee schedule. The State Business License is $200 on that same schedule.

Who publishes a Nevada street

A city is not a registered office. We print only the streets and hours the companies publish for registered-agent use. We do not invent the rest. Confirm the live name and street on the SilverFlume business search before you file. Headquarters is not the registered office. The Secretary of State’s Carson City contact is not a vendor suite.

• Northwest. The visible Nevada FAQ answers “Where is Northwest’s registered office in Nevada?” with Las Vegas. The same page’s FAQ schema answers the same question with Reno, NV. That is a conflict on the same product page. No street is published for either city. We will not invent one. Same-day on-site scans are vendor-claimed. We have not been to a Reno office or a Las Vegas office.
• Bizee. Claims owned offices in all 50 states. The official registered-agent page names no Nevada street. The contact page lists 17350 State Highway 249, Suite 220, Houston, TX 77064 as headquarters. That address is not a Nevada registered office.
• LegalZoom. A Nevada registered-agent article (updated April 30, 2026) claims a fully-staffed Las Vegas office. No street. The official registered-agent overview does not publish a Nevada street either. We do not invent a suite. We do not treat a LegalZoom virtual-mail street as the registered office.
• ZenBusiness. The Nevada product page does not publish a ZenBusiness Nevada suite. A separate office URL we checked on September 2, 2026 did not publish one either. The product page shows a Secretary of State contact at 101 N. Carson Street, Suite 3, Carson City, NV 89701. That is the Secretary of State, not ZenBusiness’s registered office. We do not treat Carson Street as their street. We have not been to a ZenBusiness Nevada office.

If you are your own agent, the street on the public record is often your home. If you hire a commercial registered agent, the agent line is that organization’s name and its Nevada street. Of these four, none publishes a Nevada suite we can cite. Northwest names two cities and no street. LegalZoom names Las Vegas and no street. Bizee and ZenBusiness name no Nevada registered-agent street. We label every city vendor-claimed. We have not been to those offices. SilverFlume search is free; use it.

In-state office and the ten-company register

Nevada wants a physical Nevada street, or a rural route box, and a person who can take papers. A commercial registered agent must register before serving ten companies. None of these four publishes a Nevada registered-agent street. Northwest claims Reno and Las Vegas on the same FAQ. LegalZoom claims a fully-staffed Las Vegas office. ZenBusiness’s Carson Street line is the Secretary of State. Bizee names no Nevada street. Process Score has not been to those offices. We do not treat a company 9-to-5 line as NRS 77.400.

Service of process — not marketing mail

We grade scan-and-forward of service of process and official notices:

• Bizee: notifications by text and email; court papers mailed via FedEx with tracking; portal upload by employees.
• Northwest: “We scan every document you receive right where you receive it—in our office.” Same-day on-site scans are also vendor-claimed. Their mail-forwarding extras are a different product. We do not grade those extras as a mailbox.
• LegalZoom: upload, email, and a postcard for urgent legal mail; they say they shred junk mail. Junk-mail shredding is not the job we score.
• ZenBusiness: scan and upload to a dashboard; email; overnight the original for urgent legal notices. Their own FAQ says you cannot use the agent address as your business address. Their national product currently excludes PLLCs and nonprofits; that is their exclusion, not a Nevada statute.

Home-address privacy

A commercial organizational agent is how most Nevada owners keep a home off the agent line. The Secretary of State still publishes whatever other addresses you put on articles or an annual list. Privacy of the agent line is not privacy of every field. Confirm the live line on SilverFlume.
